Prima Assicurazioni is an “insurtech” selling online policies since 2015 and has exceeded one million active users at the end of 2020. In addition to local intermediaries, Prima Assicurazioni also has a network of more than 250 trustworthy repair companies including body shops and multiservice centers.
With the aim of improving customer service, Prima Assicurazioni has decided to launch a network of proprietary facilities. The first one opened in March 2021: it is a multiservice center located in Brugherio (between Milan and Monza), which also offers car inspections and extends over an area of 2,300 sq m, with an additional 300 sq m for offices and 1,500 sq m for outdoor use. For the development of this pilot structure, Prima Assicurazioni turned to USI Italia.
The initiative of a proprietary structure was born with two objectives: to further improve the experience of policyholders, guaranteeing them an integrated and quality service which builds trust in the relationship with clients, by offering them added value and efficiency; to organize courses for liquidators, giving them greater awareness of the work process.
The project Prima Carrozzeria began on a blank sheet of paper, imagining from scratch an entire work cycle – from disassembly to delivery, including welding, preparation, painting, reassembly, and finishing – that would increase productivity while reducing downtime. The body shop is designed to speed up the handling of a high volume of repairs and the quality of interventions.
The cars under processing are moved on tracks, without the need to start them, with greater ease for operators. The tools are all of new generation, eco-friendly, and Industry 4.0. The preparation areas are multifunctional and can be closed and heated. Eight operational and two administrative staff currently work at the Brugherio site, and the development plan is to double resources.
